What Does 'The Great Reshuffle' Mean for Your Company Culture?

In an earlier article we wrote about Corporate Wellness Programs, we alluded to The Great Reshuffle as the third trend outlined in Linkedin’s 2022 Global Talent Trends Report - The Reinvention of Company.

‘The Great Reshuffle’

Linkedin's 2022 Global Talent Trends Report outlines that as a consequence of COVID, there has been a massive shift in what matters to people globally, and as a part of that, what they are seeking from a future work perspective. This shift has been titled ‘The Great Reshuffle’.

In seeking greater flexibility, care and work-life balance, current and prospective employees are more than ever prepared to look for new work opportunities if their needs aren’t satisfied. This is both a challenge and an opportunity. Companies that stick to previous systems and procedures risk losing their best talent and having difficulty recruiting new talent.

While those that are prepared to ask their employees what they want; and be proactive in introducing cultural change will find themselves at the top of the list as a preferred company to work with. This is especially important in countries and industries where good talent is hard to find.

Here are some findings that support the value of rethinking your company culture:

  • 41% of global employees are likely to leave their jobs in the next 12 months (Microsoft 2021 Work Trend Index).

  • Job hunting is on the rise with twice as many job posts viewed per application last year compared with 2019.

  • There is a 67% increase in engagement when the job post mentions culture.

The Value of Rethinking Your Company Culture, Sharesource AU

The report addresses culture in terms of an employer's brand. That is, does your company present to its current and prospective employees a ‘brand’ that they want to work with, and be associated with?

To demonstrate this your messaging needs to not only be addressing your customers/clients but also used to entice new employees. That is, marketing to your prospective employees through the words and key messages you use, and the stories you tell.

 The report suggests:

  • Listen to your people

  • Be willing to change your messaging

  • Get your leaders to talk about your culture

  • Rethink how/where you are currently recruiting

Sharesource exists to unleash human potential. This starts with its people, the talent that enables us to make a social impact. We can only achieve this by being a part of the Great Reshuffle.
